Earth Day Should Be Everyday

In My e-mail this morning I had this add sent to me:  Earth Day is April 22, so shop  Zappos.com to get your Eco-Friendly products now.  Find a Earth Day event near year.    What????!!?  This is what is says, to me.  OK, all you consumers we need to make money on earth day and  we know you are stupid enough to make sure you go BUY your eco-friendly products on earth day and while you are at it make sure you DRIVE to an Earth Day event to make sure you pollute more for that day.  Earth Day events would leave a toxic  big foot print.  It is an event.  Sigh :(  We can not fix our world with crap like this.    For Earth Day, walk, do not buy anything, stay home if you can and make food from a local farmer.  Do not use anything that comes from a box to make your food.  Learn to make your own non-petroleum based products, take a vow to stop dying your hair with toxic chemicals that pollute the earth, get rid of you cologne or perfume forever, us non-petroleum products, never paint your nails again, stop buying teflon, ride a bike a lot  more,  Learn to have less, learn to truly green your life, learn to truly green your yard, learn to truly green your remodel of your house or building,  get your city to stop putting toxic chemicals in your drinking water, get your city and county to stop spraying toxic herbicides all over including kids playgrounds and sports fields, do not ever you bleach again, Actually I have a better idea.  How about we do this 364 days a year and ONE day a year we have toxic day.

This is a video of a incredible 11 year old girl.  Listen to her wisdom.  We all need to cut back on our petroluem use.  It is must for the environement and good for your health.  Walk more, take the bus more, ride a bike more.  Shop locally and buy from local organic farmers.

Challenge yourself for at least a week , maybe longer and only shop locally.  This does not included shopping at your local Walmart and drinking coffee from you local Starbucks.  It means small family owned or or small business owned places.   I would love to hear about your experience.  The more you take on this challenge the better it will be for the earth and your health......

This is a very important read.  It is time to get rid of the processed food organic or not.

Approval and Labeling

Neotame was approved by the FDA for general use in July 2002, and has now been approved by the EU. It is also is approved for use in Australia, New Zealand and Canada.

The FDA loosened all labeling requirements for Neotame as part of a large-scale effort to make it a near-ubiquitous artificial sweetener, to be found on the tabletop, in all prepared foods, even in organics. It simply does not have to be included in the ingredient list. How's that for stealth?

If you purchase processed foods, whether USDA Certified Organic or not, that food may likely contain Neotame because it is cost-effective, and since no one knows it is there, there is no public backlash.

The USDA states that their National Organic Program (NOP) does not permit the use of neotame in products labeled certified organic, however this is likely a deceptive ploy to soothe the public's concerns about this toxic sweetener.

Since the USDA is controlled by politicians and lobbyists, it cannot be trusted to follow through to protect any of its regulatory policies. The NOP is a division within the USDA in charge of regulating the USDA Certified Organic products, labeling, enforcement etc. Considering the size of this division in comparison to the amount of organic food they regulate, NOP standards are arguably as lax and useless as USDA's conventional foods. The employees that enforce NOP standards know this very well.

Bottom Line: Don't trust USDA organic foods and confide in local farms with reputable practices.

My latest research has lead me to some serious thinking about what new changes I need to make in my life, my family's life and my animals.   What is happening to our food system at an incredible rate is more than sad. The corporate food corruption alone gives my heart to much anger. On days like these I can not help but think being a sheelple would make life seem so grand. Ignorance may be bliss, but, it gives nothing but a sad spirit inside that has been broken and only finds water by being led.

In our family life Easter, and any other holiday, has become a non-toxic holiday.

At this point in our lives we are poised between opposite forces, light and dark.   The "Dark Side" would be a normal Easter holiday with plastic baskets, plastic eggs, plastic toys, toxic dyes,to much toxic candy, loads of toxic food coloring, hams full of nitrates and a whole lot of non-organic food.

The light side would be making changes that are healthy and good for the earth, yourself and your family.

To me Easter gives the meaning of fertility (the symbol of the egg),  Fertility, which leads to birth therefore it is a time to create new opportunities for positive change.  It is a time to be receptive, active and conscious. I will give birth to my actions that come from my heart.

Ask yourself what you wish to give energy to.

Where will you put your focus? Dark or light?

What can you change for the better?

What actions can you make that will help the spread of good will and love in the world?

Our Easter day Plan:

Environmental Goal:  Worked 1 hour on cutting scotch broom.  We did this to keep the logging company from spraying toxic chemicals to kill it.

Eggs:  Organic eggs, dyed with red onions skins, turmeric, wild violets and thyme.

Food;   Supported the local farmers and bought organic chicken and veggies.

Family:  Dinner together with candle light and music

New Life Goals Set

Boxed Alternative Milks

We will not be buying anymore oat milk, hemp milk or any other alternative milk in a carton.  Because the cartons are bad for the environment and we found out the company's are putting ingredients that are excitotoxins in them.  They also have "Neotame".  The neotame does not have to be listed in the ingredients, see links below.

Boycotting

We will not be setting foot in a Whole Foods store ever again.  They are traders and hypocrites.

GMO ALFALFA = NO DAIRY FOR US

We also made a big decision that was not easy to make  and very sad.   That decision is to not buy any organic dairy (or any other dairy product) unless it comes from a very small local organic farmer.   This is not going to be easy because of how our government bullies small organic dairy farmers.   The sad part is a long story and I will put the link below.  I encourage you to read it.

A Challenge For All Humans

I challenge you to take a stance and not buy any dairy in any form from the store for the next two months.

We need to hit the big corporate food companies in the pocket book.  If we want a real change this HAS TO BE DONE.  Otherwise our food sources are going to get more contaminated.  After they contaminate the organic food, they will go and shut down all small farmers.

After that they will tell you what you can and cannot not grow at your own house.  It is a matter of time.  Remember "For those who control the food supply will control the human race".

My Thoughts For The Day

First I want to give you a few quotes by one of  the most incredible women you could know.

“You are not Atlas carrying the world on your shoulder. It is good to
remember that the planet is carrying you.”
― Vandana Shiva

“In nature's economy the currency is not money, it is life.”
― Vandana ShivaEarth Democracy: Justice, Sustainability, and Peace

“Nature shrinks as capital grows. The growth of the market cannot solve the very crisis it creates.”
― Vandana ShivaSoil Not Oil: Environmental Justice in an Age of Climate Crisis

Because I am full of fire and have a strong personality, I look into things, I research, I ask a lot of questions, I read alot, I am alone 80% or more, I am with nature, animals and plants which makes me go deep in my mind, heart and intuition. Today as I am doing some research, I can't help but get angry and feel depressed. What is happening to our food system at an incredible rate is more than sad. The corporate food corruption alone gives my heart to much anger. On days like these I can not help but think being a sheelple would make life seem so grand. But, ignorance may be bliss it gives nothing but a sad spirit inside that has be broken and only finds water by being led. Today is a reminder and know my life is grand, I have my animals, and nature spirits for them I am thankful. I am thankful that I work on only having purity in my life and that I can listen to the right side of good and light and I pray that I can somehow help before it is to late... Thank you Great Spirit for the new changes that are about to happen in my life, I am thankful for the knowledge. I still have things I could give up. The hard road is not easy but here I go.

Today seems to be a day I am frustrated with the American People I say American because this is where I live. We are concerned about bullying but yet WE as Americans let, yes WE let our own government bully the world. Teen suicide is UP, and people are concerned and want to find the problem, the problem is, in my eyes to much screen time, to much cell phones, really bad food so it makes it impossible for your brain to function right, to much busy life, extinct family time? Family time seems to be something that is becoming extinct. A few weeks ago I was sitting at Whole Foods with my daughters and one of their friends. We were laughing, talking and eating great food. No cell phones came out, no lap tops etc. We stopped for a moment to look around, it was a sad picture everyone in there was starring at their cell phone screens. That is not family time. Watching a movie together is NOT family time. American food? I see and talk to people who are against Monsanto and biotech food, yet these same people who know about bad food eat out. They eat out a lot. No concern for the earth, themselves, and the toxins they are supporting that pollute the rivers and our air. My air, your air, animals air. I have a chemical injury do to these same people who support these various toxic things. People complain they are tired and stress out but yet they will blame everything except the vary thing that they put in their mouths which supports their body that gives either good energy or bad energy. I just read this morning that our organic packaged (processed) food is being polluted with toxic ingredients that our government has given company's the permission to not list it on the food labels. WHAT! I do not buy much packaged food, but I do buy organic oat milk, butter and the occasional canned beans. Now I am calling organic tilth to see what the heck. I have a lot of research ahead. Earth day is coming up, why is it one day a year? Does this honestly make you feel good because you did something for one day but yet you pollute on a daily basis's? Folks I do not want to offend but it is time to re-think what we do in our world. Turn your screens off, get rid of the cable TV, have family game night, require you child to only use their cell phone for emergency only. If you go out to eat make a point to not bring in your cell phones, when you are having family time turn off all ringers put and cell phones in another room. Pick up hobbies together, plan family hikes, sign up for a race together, if you want to not contribute to the toxic chemicals in this world, stop eating out unless it is only organic or from a local farmer who does not use petroleum based products, if your toddler or teen is acting up what have they eaten? Pay attention to your world, make it beautiful because our government will not, it is up to you to actually really change and that change needs to happen soon.

A few paragraphs from Farm Wars,  I left the links below:

When did we learn to accept anything less than the best? When did we acquiesce to inferiority? To the endless compromise of our food supply? Why do we think that we somehow deserve to be robbed blind, lied to, poisoned for profit, and cheated every step of the way by the corrupt corporate system that acts like a black hole – sucking in everything and giving nothing back in return except abject misery? And why do we seem to like it? Why do we keep going back for more instead of ridding ourselves of these pariahs? Do you really want to know why? Because we have been trained that way! That’s why we accept “organic beer” made with conventional hops, and USDA Certified “contains organic ingredients” food items that have been poisoned with the likes of Neotame. We accept these things because we have been conditioned to think that this is somehow okay. It’s time to change our way of thinking.
It’s time to stop bowing to multi-national corporations who may or may not be what we think they are. Know your food producer. Know what you are eating. Become a food warrior, and fight for the right to not be deceived. Know how to read labels and figure out what the ingredients really are. The more people that wake up to the reality that we are surrounded by people who couldn’t care less about our health and are actually out to do us harm as long as they can profit by it, the better our chances of survival. Make no mistake about it. We are in a food war, and that is a war for our very lives.

“Gandhi is the other person. I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred. To me, those are the real freedoms on the basis of which good human societies are based.”
― Vandana Shiva

One more for the night:

“Globalized industrialized food is not cheap: it is too costly for the Earth, for the farmers, for our health. The Earth can no longer carry the burden of groundwater mining, pesticide pollution, disappearance of species and destabilization of the climate. Farmers can no longer carry the burden of debt, which is inevitable in industrial farming with its high costs of production. It is incapable of producing safe, culturally appropriate, tasty, quality food. And it is incapable of producing enough food for all because it is wasteful of land, water and energy. Industrial agriculture uses ten times more energy than it produces. It is thus ten times less efficient.”
― Vandana Shiva

This weekend make it a point to go buy local organic produce.  Make it a point to not buy feed lot meat from the supermarket, Make it a point to read labels,  Make it a point to not buy processed food.  Make it a point to not buy boxed or bagged juke food for your child, teen or family anymore.  Make your treats homemade.  Homemade does not come from a box.

Picture blow:  Even Oregon State University, the extension office and government DO NOT EVEN KNOW WHAT A VEGETABLE ARE!

Recipe from the Country Cookbook, 1937

POSSUM

Possum and woodchuck should ha e the glands or kernels taken out from under the forelegs and the small of the back.  many people also remove some of the layer of fat that lies under the skin.  If the animal is to be baked a favorite stuffing is equal parts of boiled chestnuts, apple sauce, and breadcrumbs.  The best possum we ever ate was left unstuffed, but its outside was stuck full os sassafras twigs until it looked like a porcupine.  An Ozarks woodsman roasted it for us before an open fire, in sight of its skin which eh had tacked up on the wall to dry.  There is an old recipe from teh deep South, however, which is the classic.  "Place an ax handle across the possum's neck, hold the tail and pull until the neck is broken.  Meanwhile have ready a pot of boiling oak lye, made of a quart of oak ashes and a gallon of water.  As soon as the neck is broken, put the possum in this, for a minute; take out and scrape clean, open down the breast, remove entrails, and wash thoroughly.  Hang in a cool place.  Rub inside and out with salt and black or red pepper; place in a roasting pan, with a teacup of boiling water, one of vinegar, a tablespoon of butter and a half dozen or more small peeled potatoes (sweets, of course).  Baste the meat frequently.  When tender remove to a dish and garnish with potatoes and parsley."

Porcupine

Toss into fire and leave it there until quills burn off, wipe clean, split skin down the stomach and take it off, chopping off the ends of the legs; empty and season lightly, for the flavor is delicate.  Stew or roast, whole or cup up.  The skin is considered the best part if the beast be first salted, peppered,, and marinated for a day and then broiled.

COOKING IN THE ASHES

The simplest way of cooking in the world, coming down from the earliest use of fire by the human race, is that done without benefit of any implement; but just by the heat itself.  And it is a mighty handy method for the sportsman in camp, for he can bury his Irish potatoes or sweets deep in the ashes of an old fire that has well heated the earth and they will be ready when he comes back with the fish or game that is to go with them.

Chestnuts, onions, acorn squash, and apples keep good company with the potatoes.  A small cross should be cut in each chestnut shell at the stem end so the nuts will not explode when heat expands them, and also to facilitate shelling; but the skins of onions, squash and apples should be unbroken.

Both sweet and field corn are at their best roasted in this manner-- just pull off a few of the outer husks, be sure to take the corn out of the ashes as soon as it is done, and you will have th real roasting ears our forefathers gnawed so lustily.

Bananas follow an old tropical tradition when baked thus in their skins.  They cook in short order, and after the ashes are dusted off they-re just slit open crack so the flesh can be sprinkled well with sugar and cinnamon and dug out with a spoon without letting the contents get cold, for only a cold potato tastes as soggy as a cold cooked banana.

ROASTED EGGS IN ASHES

Roasting is a hearty pioneer hearthside method of cooking eggs, probably  brought by the Dutch to these shores.  You need two iron frying pans for this, and first heat them both.  Then partly fill one of them with hot ashes, being careful not to include any glowing coals.  Place the eggs on these ashes leaving plenty of space between them.  Cover with more hot ashes and then with the other frying pan.  The eggs should be done in ten minutes.  Eat hot with butter, salt and pepper, while munching crisp toast.   Duck eggs are especially good baked in the ashes and of course turkey eggs would be swell.

After reading through just a couple of these recipes can you see why it would be important for you to put away?  It would be a big bag of salt and have some cast iron pans for emergency storage.    A cast Iron dutch oven would also be important to add to that storage.

Do you know why you would need lots of salt?  Post your comment below

Roundup is the world`s most popular herbicide used to control weeds all over the planet and is omnipresent in the food chain of animals and humans. Roundup is claimed to have an active ingredient known as glyphosate (G) and said to be safe for humans even though plants are readily killed. In a first of its kind published study, French researchers recently sought to examine the toxicity of four popular G-based herbicide formulations on human placental cells, kidney cells, embryonic cells and neonate umbilical cord cells and surprisingly found total cell death of each of these cells within 24 hours.

Glyphosate (G) and several unknown adjuvants. The exact ingredients in herbicides are not disclosed to the general public and are kept confidential as they are labeled, "trade secrets". Chemical company's  assure the public these ingredients are inert and are therefore non-toxic.

http://www.naturalnews.com/025534_Roundup_research_toxic.html

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency had conducted a test of lawn herbicides and found that after outdoor spraying the level of contamination found INSIDE homes was TEN to ONE HUNDRED times stronger than what was found outside. Brought in on shoes and by pets, the floor and carpet concentrations were readily picked up by children from direct dermal contact as well as orally. In fact the video portion of the story showed four babies crawling on the floor and thoroughly mouthing every toy.

The company's that created this toxic death to our environment say that herbicides are safe.  This theory comes from well paid scientist that they hire.

This information below comes from Bayer.  If this is so safe why the caution?  If something is safe there would be no warnings that if certain thing happens while using the product seek medical attention.

Handling Keep out of reach of children. Product will irritate the eyes and skin. Avoid contact with eyes
and skin. When preparing product for use, wear elbow-length PVC gloves and face shield or
goggles. When using controlled droplet applicator wear protective waterproof clothing and
impervious footwear After use and before eating, drinking or smoking wash hands, arms and
face thoroughly with soap and water. After each day’s use, wash gloves, face shield or goggles
and contaminated clothing.
Do NOT mix or apply the product or spray solution in unlined steel or galvanised containers as a
highly flammable gas may form. Use stainless steel, brass, copper, aluminium, plastic or plastic
lined, fibreglass containers or spray tanks.

It is safe to use but you better do this:

Personal Protective Eyes: Wear a face shield or goggles.

Equipment Clothing: When using controlled droplet application wear protective waterproof clothing and impervious footwear.

It is so safe you better wear this type of glove:

Gloves:   Wear elbow - length PVC gloves.

Hazardous reactions Do NOT store, mix or apply the product or spray solution in unlined steel or galvanised containers as a highly flammable gas may form.

Since when, is something safe if it is a Marine Pollutant?

Marine Pollutant Yes

Here is some more information from ProKoz herbicide:

Again, there is no way this is safe to use.  As long as a product has such hazards listed, it is not safe  PERIOD!

I could not copy and paste the hazards.  The company has made it so I can't so here is the link and read it yourself.

http://www.cdms.net/ldat/mp7RD001.pdf

Where did we go wrong that people think that something is safe to use even when there are warning signs on it?   Are there really people out there that read the back of these labels and think it is safe to use????  Especially when it says if ingested contact your physician, call poison control??  Do people really think it is safe when you should wear a certain type of glove up to your elbows?  The list goes on.

It is time for people to wake up, it is not safe to spray something that kills something.

In the long run you have either given yourself a certain type of cancer or disease,  You have given someone you love cancer or disease.  You have given cancer or disease to some other human, life form, frog, bee, bird, marine life etc...........

Special note:  On the back of these toxic herbicides it says this or something similar:

Buyer assumes all liability.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, buyer and all users are responsible for all loss
or damage from use or handling which results from conditions beyond the control of
this Company to the extent consistent with applicable law, including, but not limited to,

If I had a neighboor spraying this I would start a law suit.

PEACE AND HAVE A CHEMICAL FREE DAY :)

Keep out of reach of children.
CAUTION!
CAUSES MODERATE EYE IRRITATION.
Avoid contact with eyes or clothing. Avoid breathing vapor or spray mist.
