Mountain Mama Wellness is presenting an herbal deep dive into bioregional herbalism. Bioregional herbalism is the practice of using local plants and or growing your own to make medicine or use in your kitchen. It is going back to the old ways and to have a more intimate approach not only for sustainable living but also for sustainable herbalism. Bio regional herbalism is the oldest form of plant healing medicine.
Everyone of us has ancestors that had close relationships with the surrounding plants. Your ancestors, wherever you came from, were connected at a very deep level to the land and with their plant allies of that region.
Studying bioregional herbalism allows us to develop a relationship with the land that surrounds us. It also helps you develop your own health and wellness program that can be either right outside your door or extend out into the lands that surround you. It allows you to be in charge of your own health care and at the same time empowers you with the knowledge of what your ancestors knew. Your local plant medicine is right there waiting for you locally to begin this healing journey to do what your ancestors once did. Isn’t it time for this learning journey to begin?
This herbalism and healing journey begins with a four-part series. The first class begins with Tree Medicine, then Healing Shrubs/Bushes, the third is Leaf, Flower and Root. The last class is Kitchen Herbs for Health and Wellness.
In each class we will go over several local plants that can be used for medicine. Class notes will be handed out. Also, we will prepare a few herbal products that you will be able to take home.
