Hello All,
Mountain Mama Wellness updates on Friday May 12th 2023
Saturdays: Farmers Market at the Grange 10:00 AM – 2:00 Pm
Starting May 11th Thursday Farmers Market 11:00 PM – 5:00 PM
I am booth 71 across the street on the Baptist Church Side in their parking lot.

Hard to believe it is already May 12th!! Summer is headed our way, which means everything is in rapid growth mode. At my farm it is amazing to see how much everything has grown! Including my granddaughters!

Every day I sit outside and enjoy a cuppa tea. I sit with a loved one and sometimes in solitude. This time of year while sipping tea I am sitting in a forest of bird song. The Wrens arrived a few weeks ago and the males are trying to call in their mates. The Wrens make a beautiful sound while calling in the female bird of their dreams. This week I also heard the Swainson Thrush calling out to its flock and will soon be singing its summer song. All day the birds are sharing their gift of song, which sends me into a happy state. Right now I sit with this amazing concert of bird song while sipping a cuppa tea, while gardening, while watering, while hiking and in the early morning while lying in bed. I could sit all day in stillness and listen to them, and I feel blessed for their presences.

My granddaughter Satinka is enjoying the Dandelions. She is blowing the Dandelions wishes everywhere and today she made the mistake of giving them a kiss, which meant Dandelion seeds stuck to her mouth, we both giggled at that.
She and I made a Sun Tea out of the Dandelion Flowers and added some of my Tranquility Tea.
We took a 2 cup mason jar
About ¼ to ½ cup Dandelion flowers
2 tablespoons of Tranquility Tea
Pour water into the jar and fill it up.
Put the lid on
Let steep in the sun for about 2 to 4 hours.
You could also do a lunar infusion and let it sit under the stars and moon over night. It is magical

The apple blossoms are blooming as are the Lilacs and Hawthorns.
If you have Hawthorn Flowers this would be the time to pick some and some leaves and make a tincture, glycerite, vinegar, oxymel, infused honey, or dry them for tea. You could also make a Hawthorn Flower essence

If you have Lilacs then I would encourage you to make a Lilac infused honey, it is Beautiful and Awesome!
You could also make Apple Blossom Flower Essence

Mother’s Day is Sunday:

The official pick-up date for your Wellness Box will be May 19th 2023
It is official the Mountain Mama Wellness Boxes are happening! Each monthly wellness box will have a theme with several items for you to enjoy and use. These monthly wellness boxes will have information on each item, information on each herb used, the recipes (just in case you want to recreate something you enjoyed) each box will be based on a theme. For example summer is coming up and the June box will be a Summer Herbal First Aid Kit.
The Cost is $60.00 for a Mountain Mama Wellness Box.
May’s Mountain Mama Wellness Box –
May’s wellness box is full of love, beauty and vitality. It is full of items to help you rest, repair and bring you into a state of vitality. Last week I talked about a vinegar reduction that I was making. It turned out beautiful and the color is a robust red. I am getting pretty excited about putting all of these items together as we approach the delivery day.
This month’s box will have items that help with inflammation. I felt this was an important subject since so many of us are dealing with some sort of inflammation. Emotional stress and environmental stress will cause inflammation in one’s body and these days there is a lot of stress in one's life. The effects of stress can range from allergies, skin issues, body aches, dehydration, tummy troubles, acid reflux, insomnia, heart attacks, high blood pressure, etc. Chronic stress puts your health at risk and creates an inflamed body. This box is about cooling stress down and reduces inflammation in the body. I will also give some helpful ideas to help you manage stress.
In this box, there will be Cacao Rose Bitters, a tincture for inflammation, infused vinegar, a tea, salve, infused honey, smudge stick and a foot soak and/or bath soak/
If you would like a May Box, you need to pre-pay.
Pre Order Now: Ways to Pay:

Suggestions:
Date Night Suggestion: Relax and Release Tea, Calm Soak and Yoni Butter.
Nightly Ritual: Tranquility Tea, Full Moon/New Moon Bath Soak and moisturizer with a face/body cream after.
Revitalizing Foot Soak, Tranquility Tea, and Happy Feet Cream
Calm Soak for the hands, then Honey Hand Ointment or Coriander Hand Moisturizer.
Spa Treatment: Floral Cleansing Grains use as a mask while you soak in a tub of Calm, or soak in the Hibiscus Rose Bath Melts. After bath pat your skin dry and moisturize. Gently rinse your face, apply the Ylang Ylang Rose Facial Spray and moisturize with Skin Bliss, Rose Cold Cream or Calm Body Cream
Products that are coming soon: Blue Chamomile, Super Nutritive Lavender Toner, Rose Toner Miracle Grains, Face Serum, sage spray, smudge sticks, facial steam, High Vitamin C Tea, Revitalizing Chai, and High Mineral Tea.

Fatty Lavender/ Tea Tree Rosemary Soap I personally love Fatty Soap and now so does Joseph. Neither of us like to use soap bars because they always give you that feel of something stuck to your skin after you have rinsed off. What I love about Fatty Soap is that it has extra oil, herbal powders and oat powder added to it. By doing this it feels like it is also moisturizing your skin. I have to admit that they are A LOT of work, but fun to do and the end product is worth it.

Floral Cleansing Grains: Use as a scrub or a Mask. It is great for clearing up your complexion, helps neutralize excess oil, pulls out impurities, plumps up and moisturizes your skin, and helps promote a glowing complexion. The Floral Cleansing grains ingredients are kaolin clay, oat powder, French green clay, calendula pd., chamomile pd., lavender pd., rose pd., turmeric pd., matcha pd., lavender eo, ylang ylang eo, geranium eo, chamomile eo and LOVE.
Turmeric has antibacterial and antiseptic properties and can help keep your complexion clean and clear. It is also perfect for mature skin that has become increasingly sensitive (calms and soothes troubled or reactive skin).
Take a couple tablespoons and make into a paste. You can make into a paste by add water or rose water/hydrosol.
Use as a scrub or as a mask
For Mask: Apply and keep on your face for 15 to 30 minutes. Rinse off.
After use: Apply a face toner and moisturizer.
Ideas For Making A Mask:
For Dry Skin – Add cream (coconut cream, dairy cream, yogurt etc.) optional a touch of honey and rose hydrosol (honey is a natural humectant)
For Normal Skin – Add milk (diary, yogurt or alternative milk) optional a touch of honey and rose hydrosol
For Oily Skin – Add water or hydrosol of choice

Hello All,

Mountain Mama Wellness updates on Friday April 14th 2023

13417480856?profile=original

Today I have a bit of a recap and some new items to introduce. Also attached the pdf.   I recently found the domain name that I like.  It was a bit tough because there are other Mountain Mamas out there.  I actually can’t believe this was available. When I get my website up and running it will be: www.mountainmommawellness.com

My e-mail is MountainMamaWellness@protonmail.com or if you have a different e-mail that I still use then that works also.

My phone number: 505-472-6656

I am now on Instagram.  I am not sure how all this works, and I do not know (yet) how to tell you how to find me. I am under soul_medicine2023 / Mountain Mama Wellness by Phoenix Sanders. So if you use Instagram, please find me and if you like start following me.

I recently changed a website that I have had for about 10 years from www.mcminnvillehealthdefense.ning.com to  www.mountainmomma.ning.com. ;

But… I am having tech issues and now my site is not coming up.  I am in contact with the tech people and they are working on it.

After I am finished with the website I will start on an etsy shop.  On that note since my website is going to take more time and etsy seems a bit easier I have started my etsy account.  It is not up yet because I have to enter all my items with all their information, which includes photos, ingredients, all measurements, their weight etc.   My official etsy shop name will be Mountain Moma Wellness.

It is official the Mountain Mama Wellness Boxes are happening!  I have been working on the information for my Mountain Mama Wellness Boxes this week and I was going to put the information here today.  But I just realized the information is in a notebook at home. The super short version, each monthly wellness box will have a theme with several items for you to enjoy and use.  These monthly wellness boxes will have information on each item, information on each herb used, the recipes (just in case you want to recreate something you enjoyed)each box will be based on a theme. For example summer is coming up and the June box will be a Summer Herbal First Aid Kit. The official start for this will be May 2023, a great way to celebrate May Day!!   The cost is $60.00 a month. I am debating on keeping a few theme boxes available for purchase (separately) year around. Such as a Menopause Box, Pregnancy Box, Men’s Health, Women’s Vitality etc.

New items of the week:  This week’s new items gave me the wonderful opportunity to be with my friend the Rose.  What better timing to, this is that time of year I am out hiking and I literally smell the wild rose bush when I walk by it. Yes you read that right, there are no blossoms at this time of the year, but as the Wild Rose Bush wakes up it literally gives off this intoxicating rose scent that comes from the leaves and branches. It is literally calling out to you saying summer will be here soon, just breathe in my scent, be happy and you will see my blossoms soon.   The Rose has many incredible and amazing health benefits, not to mention it is a wonderful aromatic bush. The rose tells you to relax, to love, to open your heart to love, it can wake up the senses for a night of passion, it rejuvenates and regenerates the skin.   Just smelling the scent of rose gives a calming and relaxing effect.

Rose Cold Cream is now available.  It is a moisturizer that rejuvenates and replenishes your skin. It can also be used as a cleanser. Just put a light coat on and gently wipe it off with a soft tissue.  You will be amazed at the dirt that it can pullout.  Don’t forget to do it to your neck.  After you use it to cleanse your skin, if you feel like it, apply a light coat to moisturize your skin.   This wonderful cream can be used just as a moisturizer.  I also love this cream as a full body moisturizer and I love using it after I get out of the shower.  What better way to start your day than smelling like a rose.

Ah but it gets better.  I also added a couple of flower essences.  Flower Essences are a healing vibrational energy medicine.  They are amazing and I have been using them for many years.  The Rose Cold Cream has Oak Flower Essence and Honeysuckle Flower Essence in it.

13417480489?profile=original

Oak Flower Essence helps those who are extremely positive (but get burnt out) in their approach to life.  They are fighters who never lose hope or give up. Any problems they have stem from their tendency to draw constantly on their internal strengths, ignoring nature’s alarm signals and exhausting even their massive energy reserves as a result. .  Oak helps recharge your batteries and it will help you recognize that there are limits even to your strength and that there is a time to rest.

Honeysuckle Flower Essence helps those who have a tendency to look to the past, maybe to happier days.  As a result, there is a risk of losing interest in the issues and demands of the present, missing out on much of life as a result through a preoccupation with past events and happenings. The remedy will help those who struggle with this by encouraging them to focus more on the present, helping them to put the past into perspective, so that it does not come to dominate their thoughts.  Honeysuckle may help bereaved people who think back all the time, or act as if their loved one were still alive.   The next new items are:

Yoni Butter Cocoa Butter, this one is almost the same as my other one, but has less bees wax and more of a cocoa butter smell.  It is like using cocoa on your yoni, it’s nice, slippery and is a great sensual moisturizing lubricant.   If you have a partner that loves to give you a full body massage this yoni butter works great for this also.   Something most women do not think about, we always moisturize our hands, faces, body and feet.  But after a shower you can also moisturize your yoni with yoni butter.

Next is Ylang Ylang Rose Facial Spray. Give yourself a few spritzes on your face and then apply your moisturizer.  You can also spritz your face when you feel like you need a lift.

Then there is Clary Sage and Lavender Body Mist:  The scent is uplifting and can help with bringing hope and joy into your day.  It has three different Flower Essences in it.  It has the star of Bethlehem, Gorse and Sweet Chestnut.

The last new item for this week is, Full Moon & New Moon Salt Soak. I would like to encourage you to add foot soaks and bath soaks into your life. Start new rituals of soaking in the healing waters of life a few times a week or at least one time a week.  Get a few candles, get some flowers and fill a tub, make a cuppa relaxing tea, put the soft music on, turn out the lights and soak your body or feet  Help yourself, learn to mother yourself,  and reconnect to the natural rhythms of nature.

These days so many need rituals to mother themselves why not start with a soak, not only is it super important for vitality it encourages you to stop, be still, be silent and go back into the warm watery womb of life.  .So as the sun sets in the west and the darkness of the night approaches, slow down and fill the tub.  Remember the sun sets in the west and gives you a beautiful sunset, but it also reminds you to take in the gift of calm to help you sleep all night long.  The night sky is a reminder there is always beauty and light and this beauty and light reminds you to take the gifts of silence and stillness of the night to help you sleep all night.  So when you wake up you can be happy, healthy and whole so you can take compassion and love wherever you go.

Full Moon and New Moon Salt Soak:  Baking soda, black lava salt, rose petals, Himalayan pink salt, Artemisia vulgaris, lavender buds, Epsom salt, bentonite clay, clary sage eo, geranium rose eo and LOVE
Skin Bliss is still available! (I only have a few jars left) This is one of my most popular creams. Skin Bliss is great for most skin types such as normal, dry and mature.
I made another batch of Calm Body Cream – Luscious Moisturizer. I sold all but one last Saturday and that one is going to my niece. This moisturizer works for those who need to have a light moisturizer. This moisturizer works for oily skin, normal, dry, and mature. My daughter Raquel loves it and also uses it on my granddaughters.

Every Saturday I will be at the Farmers Market at The Grange and will continue to be there every Saturday. I will also be in the Thursday Farmers Market which starts May 11th. I will do my best to update you with what products I will have each week. Each week I will be adding more products.

“It is far more important to know what person the disease has

than what disease the person has.”

Hippocrates

In my life I really try to live by a statement that Hypocrites made,

" Let food by thy medicine and medicine be thy food"

On that note, when I start my morning I think about what nutrients does my family need?  Is anyone needing something extra?  What illnesses are going around?  Have they been around sick people?  Has there been enough Sleep?  Enough exercise?  How has the water intake been?  Have we had enough veggies?   I ask these questions, because this is my health care, my insurance.

It seems to me with the health care system being so flawed, people would work on being healthy.  Instead of new junk food business going up, we should  see more gyms, ski highs, kung fu schools, roller skating rink,  more farmers markets, more organic farmers, etc, because we have all become so active that, that is where the money is being made.   If America was truly concerned about health, health care and insurance then we would see fast food joints close, video game businesses  close, people becoming more active, obesity rates down,  and a pluthara of other diseases  down. .

It shows in my own town how unhealthy we are.  Just count all the fast food restaurants, the coffee shops, the AM/PM, etc. this shows where the money is being made.  We are not an active town, we are a town that has a very high percent of obesity.

The so called health care system  has nothing to do with HEALTH.    The people in charge of naming it health care were brilliant.  If anything they have shown people the opposite of what true health is.   Now days most people do not even know what it feels like to be totally healthy.  Kids are taught at a very young age how NOT to be healthy. They are brought up on processed carbs, fruit, cheese slices, mac and cheese  and hot dogs. Parents are not taught how to raise their child starting at first foods and how to have them grow up with a wide palate.   They end up with picky eaters, due to this fact.  Plus, most adults do not eat good themselves, therefore the child learns from them.

What we have in America is  Sick Care.  Our costs of Sick Care are high and the corporations are getting richer by the minute due to our lack of knowledge to be healthy.  Brilliant plan, of a handful of now billionaires that started in 1847....

The Standard American Diet = SAD

13417442295?profile=original

There is no healing nutrients in the food pictured below.  All of this food feeds depression, anxiety, obesity, heart disease, cancer, gives low energy,  less brain power, sucks your immune system dry, gives diabetes, high blood pressure etc.  This is just a S.A.D

This food pictured below takes away from your life.

13417442496?profile=original

A few weeks ago Mr. Bronson and I took a back-packing trip.  This trip was to have a quiet place to think.  We sat high up on a view and came up with our own health plan.  What we need to implement in our life to stay healthy.   We set personal and health goals, these goals were set in the realm of mind, body and spirit.   Also, we worked out on a  wellness plan that I am excited to share once we get it solidified.

One of our goals was to make eating food at the Kung Fu School easier for Mr. Bronson.  Pouring a hot bowl of soup and trying to eat it in-between classes is not easy.  By the time he can eat it, it is too cold to eat.  Therefore it gets poured back into the crock pot and he tries again.  This does not make a night of successfully eating healthy if you can only get a few bites in for the night.   One of the health goals we set was to have food at the school that is easier to eat in sound bites.   I love hearing the stories of Mr. Bronson showing the kids what he is eating.  I hope it motivates them to keep trying new foods. The post's on face book about food must be working because I am getting requests for recipes. I have decided to try to put some of the recipes down right away with the picture.  I have had requests (for years) for me to put a cookbook together.  I am just not sure where to start, I just need to buck up and figure it out.

Pictured Below is one of our thinking spots.

13417443662?profile=original

Most of the meals you see Mr. Bronson eating, are made without recipes.   I will do my best to tell you what I did.

When it comes to greens and salads you really can't mess up. The first thing you need is some really good quality tasting green veggies.  I have some of these growing on my farm and then I go to the Saturday Market in our town at the Grange.  We have our CSA Share from Growing Wild farm and I also purchase more greens from Dennison's Farms

Here is a list of great veggies you can pick up at the Saturday Market in our town.  If you do not live in McMinnville, you can find a farmers market near you by clicking on this link:

One Man One Cow One Planet

This film is not your usual doom and gloom experience it gives great optimism for the world and what ORDINARY PEOPLE CAN DO -Michael Burton, New Zealand

Modern agriculture causes topsoil to be eroded at 3 million tons per hour (thats 26 billion tons a year!). Human mass (waste) is replacing biomass and other species. The carrying capacity of the earth is almost spent. To maintain our comfort zone lifestyles we will soon need five earths to sustain us in the style to which we have become accustomed. The mantra of free trade has failed the worlds poor. There is a better way. Biodynamic agriculture may be the only answer we have left.

What is Salad Burnet?

Salad burnet is a member of the rose (Rosaceae) family. The plant is an attractive perennial grown for both its edible leaves and its medicinal properties. Medicinally, it was once used against the Plague and to control hemorrhaging, but today it is mostly know, medicinally, for its astringent properties. Use whenever you want to add a cool, cucumber flavor. Leaves can be tossed into salads or used on sandwiches. They make a nice addition to cold drinks, like lemonade and wine spritzers. Use salad burnet to flavor dips and vinegars. Toss leaves into soups, eggs and other hot dishes at the last minute.

You can use it as a stir fry or try this yummy recipe:  Simple and Quick
